Day 1, September 19, 2022 (Monday): Detroit>Rome
Depart USA on overnight flight to Rome, Italy
Day 2, September 20, 2022 (Tuesday): Rome
Upon arrival in Rome we will be greeted by our tour escort and bus driver. We will set the tone for our pilgrimage right away when we celebrate Holy Mass at the Major Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. This one of four Major Basilicas in Rome we will visit during our pilgrimage. We will then check into our 4-star hotel. Welcome Dinner at Osteria Padi. (D)
Day 3, September 21, 2022 (Wednesday): Rome
Papal Audience -The Audience with the Pope consists of small teachings and at the end of the Audience, the Pope will pray the Our Father, and will impart his Apostolic Blessing upon the crowd which also extends to loved ones that are sick and suffering. Lunch at La Locanda di Pietro. The Vatican Museums - The Vatican Museums contain masterpieces of painting, sculpture and other works of art collected by the popes through the centuries. St Peter’s Basilica - St. Peter's is one of the holiest sites in Christendom, standing on the traditional site where Peter was crucified and buried. Holy Mass at St Peter's. We return to our hotel before dinner at Restaurant il Jubileum. (B|L|D)
Day 4, September 22, 2022 (Thursday): Rome
This morning we celebrate Holy Mass at the Saint Sebastian at the Catacombs. We then tour the famous Catacombs of Rome. Off to the Church of Domine Quo Vadis before lunch at a Le Terme del Colosseo. We will enjoy a City Tour including views of The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Remainder of the day free to enjoy Rome. (B|L)
Day 5, September 23, 2022 (Friday): Rome – Florence - Tuscany
After an early breakfast, we travel to The Renaissance City of Florence. We'll grab a panini on our way before arrival and a half day guided tour including the Cathedral of Florence - Santa Maria del Fiore, the Galleria dell’Accademia, Piazza della Repubblica, and the Ponte Vecchio. After, it’s off for dinner and a wine tasting in the Tuscany countryside. Overnight in Tuscany. (B|D)
Day 6, September 24, 2022 (Saturday): San Gimignano – Siena - Assisi
Today we visit the small walled medieval hill town of San Gimignano, known as the Town of Fine Towers, where we will celebrate Holy Mass at the Church of San Bartolo. A walking tour and then lunch on your own before departure for Siena, the home of St Catherine and the beautiful Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena). Guided tour before departing for Assisi. Dinner at the Windsor Savoy in Assisi. (B|D)
Day 7, September 25, 2022 (Sunday): Assisi – Rome
Half day guided tour of Assisi including the Papal Basilica of St Francis and the Basilica of St Clare. Holy Mass at the Monastery of St Francis Basilica. Free time in Assisi, lunch and then we motor coach back to Rome after a visit to St Mary of the Angel Church. Dinner at Massimo D’azeglio. (B|D)
Day 8, September 26, 2022 (Monday): Rome
We start our full day guided tour at St Mary Major Basilica where we will celebrate Mass. After, we visit the St Peter in Chains Minor Basilica before seeing the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit St John Lateran Basilica and Cathedral, and The Holy Steps. The rest of the afternoon free and dinner on your own. (B|L)
Day 9, September 27, 2022 (Tuesday): Rome – Montecassino
This morning we visit the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo, which for centuries was a summer residence and vacation retreat for the Pope. We will take in the views off Lake Albano and have time for some shopping. This afternoon we travel to the Benedictine Abbey of Montecassino, one of the most famous abbeys in the world. Lunch in a local restaurant in Cassino before Holy Mass at Montecassino Abbey. Return to Rome for our Farewell Dinner. (B|L|D)
Day 10, September 28, 2022 (Wednesday): Rome>Detroit
This morning we have COVID tests scheduled for 7:15AM. After breakfast, transfer to Rome airport for our flight back home after a life changing pilgrimage through Italy. B
